Lake Awoonga Barramundi Fishing
Just a short 15-minute drive to Queensland's Premier Barramundi stocked impoundment, Lake Awoonga, where over 6 million Barramundi have been stocked, including 1 million in the last year alone, with plans of 1.2 million every year!
Lake Awoonga is a place of majestic scenery, based at the foothills of the Castletower Ranges and the beautiful Boyne Valley, it has its very own ecosystem... with immense flora and fauna, including 100's of species of Birds, Kangaroos, Wallabies and wild Brumbies grazing on the grasslands.
Flats fishing and Saltwater Fly Fishing
The Gladstone region is possibly the most easily accessible flats fishery in the East Coast of Australia. With Flights direct into Gladstone from Brisbane QLD, you can be settled into your accommodation and stalking big Anak Permit in no time!
With a variety of Flats species to target, common captures are Golden Trevally, Queenfish, Longtail Tuna, Mack Tuna, Giant Herring, Giant Trevally and of course... the Holy Grail, Big Anak and Blocchi Permit!
Terms and conditions
A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking. No bookings are confirmed until the deposit is received.
The final balance of payment is due 30 days prior to arrival.
Loss or damage to tackle will incur additional replacement costs.
Cancelation and Refund policy
If your booking is cancelled less than 30 days prior to arrival, GFS will retain the full charter fee, unless the booking can be filled by another client.
If booking is cancelled more than 30 days before arrival, then the deposit can be transferred to another day but cannot be refunded.
Gift Certificates are Valid for 12 months from date of purchase and are non-refundable
Weather conditions
If the weather is deemed safe the fishing charter will depart from a safe departure point and bookings will be honoured.
If the weather is deemed unsafe the charter will be rescheduled. If this is not possible to arrange, a refund will be issued.
Light spin tackle is on hand, if conditions are too windy for fly.
