Born and raised in Biloela, Queensland, Cory Gooch has spent over three decades mastering the art of fishing throughout Central Queensland’s lakes, rivers, and coastline. His passion? Helping clients land trophy-sized fish, especially the legendary barra—Australia’s ultimate sportfish.
With a sharp focus on delivering real results, Cory has fine-tuned his guiding techniques so anglers of all skill levels can succeed. In 2024 alone, over 238 barramundi over a metre were landed on his charters—proof that fishing here isn’t just good... it’s world-class.
When Cory’s not guiding, he’s still fishing. That means he knows exactly when and where the bite is hot—so there’s no wasted time when you step on board. You get straight into the action with a guide who lives and breathes the sport.
Terms and conditions
A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking. No bookings are confirmed until the deposit is received.
The final balance of payment is due 30 days prior to arrival.
Loss or damage to tackle will incur additional replacement costs.
Cancelation and Refund policy
If your booking is cancelled less than 30 days prior to arrival, GFS will retain the full charter fee, unless the booking can be filled by another client.
If booking is cancelled more than 30 days before arrival, then the deposit can be transferred to another day but cannot be refunded.
Gift Certificates are Valid for 12 months from date of purchase and are non-refundable
Weather conditions
If the weather is deemed safe the fishing charter will depart from a safe departure point and bookings will be honoured.
If the weather is deemed unsafe the charter will be rescheduled. If this is not possible to arrange, a refund will be issued.
Light spin tackle is on hand, if conditions are too windy for fly.
